Guide
What to see and do in Barcelona in July?
July arrives with one of the year's most intense cultural agendas in Barcelona. The city fully embraces summer with major festivals, concerts, creative markets, open-air cinema and offerings that invite you to rediscover its most iconic spaces. Grec Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary with almost a hundred theatre, dance, music and circus performances spread throughout the city, while the Grand Départ du Tour de France turns Barcelona into the centre of world cycling with three historic days and numerous parallel activities.
Music also sets the rhythm of the month. PRIDE! BCN fills the city with concerts and celebrations of diversity, Clotilde Fest brings together some of the most prominent voices in Catalan pop, and international bands such as Dogstar return to Barcelona stages. Added to this are unique experiences such as Candlelight concerts, DroneArt Show performances and neighbourhood festivals that enliven different corners of the city.
Summer is also synonymous with outdoor plans. Markets such as Port Flea and Manila Market, the Tangent series, film sessions under the stars and the traditional Poblenou Beer Fair offer alternatives for enjoying the city at a different pace. Those who prefer a quieter option can take advantage of visits to La Pedrera and the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau, tour the historic palaces in the Palaus Singulars series, or discover the new exhibitions at MACBA and other cultural spaces.
With major international events, culture in every neighbourhood and activities for all audiences, July confirms that Barcelona is one of the best destinations for enjoying summer without leaving the city.
