Latin American Literature Festival “KM América”
KM América celebrates its fifth edition, consolidating itself as one of the main meeting points between Latin American literature, the Caribbean and Barcelona’s cultural scene. Over several days, libraries, cultural spaces and stages across the city will fill with conversations, readings, routes, workshops and shows that understand literature as something alive, shared and deeply connected to the present.
About this event
The festival brings together around forty writers, artists and creators from different generations and geographies to reflect on memory, identity, language and ways of resisting through culture. Curated by the Mexican writer Eduardo Ruiz Sosa, this edition places literature before contemporary violence and champions art as a space for encounter, community and critical thinking.
The programme combines intimate dialogues, oral literature, music, live writing and stage proposals that break with the traditional literary-festival format. From routes through Gràcia to sessions where authors improvise texts live, or parties where people dance among books and Latin American playlists, KM América is committed to erasing boundaries between disciplines and bringing literature closer to the body, the voice and the street.
