The best places to see the solar eclipse: from central Madrid to the Sierra de Guadarrama

On 12 August, Spain will witness the first total solar eclipse in more than a hundred years. In Madrid and the north of the region, it will be possible to observe the totality phase of this exceptional phenomenon: the partial eclipse will begin at 19:36, totality will occur at around 20:32 and will last between 30 and 90 seconds, depending on the observation site. At 21:17, the Sun will set below the horizon.
