Eclipse Festival

Madrid is preparing for a total solar eclipse, an astronomical phenomenon that will be visible for the first time in more than a century on 12 August. The regional government has organised a series of educational, scientific and cultural activities so that people of all ages can be part of this event.

As part of the preparations, viewing areas will be set up and lectures, workshops, musical performances and meetings with specialists will be held. The main event will be the Eclipse Festival at the Riosequillo swimming pools in Buitrago del Lozoya, with family activities and food trucks. For safe viewing, certified glasses will be distributed and a practical guide will be prepared. All information about the events will be available on a dedicated website.

Schoolchildren and students will receive interactive tasks: primary pupils will study the eclipse process with the help of robots, while secondary pupils will create models and interactive maps.
