The Eclipsis exhibition offers a journey through the relationship between astronomy, history and science via one of the celestial phenomena that has inspired the greatest fascination over the centuries.
About this event
Coinciding with the arrival of an exceptional series of solar eclipses visible from Spain between 2026 and 2028, the exhibition invites visitors to discover how they have been observed, studied and interpreted over time.
The focus of the exhibition is the Reial Acadèmia de Ciències i Arts de Barcelona (RACAB), considered Spain’s oldest scientific institution. From its early years, the Academy played a prominent role in observing eclipses, contributing to the development of astronomical knowledge and to the tracking of these extraordinary events.
Through documents, historical references and informative content, Eclipsis recovers this legacy and explains why eclipses have been so important for scientific research. At the same time, it offers an opportunity to understand the value of the three solar eclipses that will be visible in the coming years, turning the past and the future into a single story told under the Moon’s shadow.
