«Antarctica Experience» immersive exhibition
The immersive Antarctica Experience exhibition brings audiences closer to one of the planet’s most remote territories through images, sound and audiovisual technology. The project was created by Luc Jacquet, director of March of the Penguins and an Oscar winner, after years of work on the Antarctic continent.
About this event
Glaciers, expanses of ice, penguin colonies and underwater landscapes form part of a journey created with material captured by Jacquet and his team during their expeditions. Large-format projections make it possible to observe usually inaccessible settings up close and discover Antarctica from a perspective that combines scientific outreach and visual creation.
Jacquet conceives the experience as a combination of the desire to travel and a gaze of admiration towards nature. After more than two years of development, the exhibition has been designed for visitors of different ages and also offers a reflection on the fragility of polar ecosystems.
Antarctica Experience thus turns exploration of the white continent into a sensory experience that allows visitors to discover its natural wealth and, at the same time, understand why its conservation is becoming increasingly relevant.
