Festival de Zarzuela at Teatre Apolo

From 27 to 30 August, La Corte de Faraón will stage one of the most irreverent zarzuelas in the repertoire. With music by Vicente Lleó, it combines operetta, revue and cuplé in a plot full of double entendres, humour and situations typical of vaudeville.

From 3 to 6 September, it will be the turn of Cançó d’amor i de guerra, an emblematic work of Catalan zarzuela. Set in Vallespir during the Napoleonic occupation, it intertwines a love story with resistance and the defence of freedom.

The festival will end from 10 to 12 September with La del manojo de rosas. The classic is presented with a new pin-up aesthetic inspired by the 1940s and 1950s, retaining the original text and adding a live orchestra, great voices and a staging full of colour.
