Comedy “Els plans”

The play begins with a simple idea: Pep and Marta, exhausted by endless holidays with their friends Miqui and Mamen —the parents of their daughter’s best friend— decide to pretend to separate in order to get out of future plans together.

What was meant to be an innocent excuse soon gets out of hand. The lie grows, misunderstandings accumulate, and the fake break-up acts as a catalyst for old tensions, unspoken reproaches and truths nobody wanted to hear. Amid laughter and increasingly absurd situations, the play ironically lays bare the social pressure of being “good parents”, the fragility of relationships and the expectations that others —and oneself— impose on family life.

With brisk dialogue and humour that never gives up reflection, “Els plans” turns a small farce into a biting portrait of modern life, where appearances weigh as heavily as real emotions. A comedy to laugh… and think.
