“Bonobos” show
What can go wrong when three friends decide to reinvent themselves to make a good first impression? Bonobos begins with that question to build a comedy of entanglements in which appearances, insecurities and lies pile up at a dizzying pace.
About this event
Álex, Fran and Dani have been unsuccessful in love for some time and believe they have found the solution: signing up for speed dating. However, rather than presenting themselves as they are, they choose to hide their reality and maintain a chain of small deceptions which, as usually happens, soon begin to get out of hand.
Written by Laurent Baffie and adapted by Julián Quintanilla, the play uses humour to discuss a very current subject: the pressure to fit in and the tendency to construct an idealised version of oneself to please others. Amid misunderstandings, absurd situations and fast-paced dialogue, the characters will discover that sincerity can be much more complicated than any lie.
With a running time of 100 minutes and performed in Spanish, Bonobos offers an evening of laughter that combines physical comedy, unexpected situations and an ironic look at relationships, prejudices and the difficulty of showing oneself as one is.
