25th Catalunya Aixeca el Teló Gala 2026
Catalan theatre raises the curtain again. On 7 September, the Gran Teatre del Liceu will host the 25th Catalunya Aixeca el Teló Gala, the event that officially marks the beginning of the 2026–2027 performing arts season.
About this event
Organised by ADETCA, the Association of Theatre Companies of Catalonia, the gala brings the sector together each year to present what will arrive on stages in the coming months. Companies, theatres, performers and professionals meet for an evening that serves as a showcase for the new programme and, at the same time, as a collective celebration of the performing arts.
The 2026 edition will have a special meaning: Catalunya Aixeca el Teló is celebrating its 25th edition. A quarter of a century of giving visibility to theatre and asserting the vitality of a sector that renews itself season after season without losing its bond with its audience.
This time, moreover, the stage will be one of Barcelona's great cultural symbols: the Liceu. There, symbolically, a new theatrical season will begin, with stories, premieres and names that will occupy Catalan theatres during 2026–2027.
