Climate Refuge «Un cuarto de estar para la ciudad»
When it is too hot, a cultural space can become the best place to take a break. That is the idea Matadero Madrid is bringing back this summer with a proposal that invites people to escape the heat without giving up culture.
About this event
Throughout July, Nave Una will host «Un cuarto de estar para la ciudad», a space combining a climate refuge with a cultural programme. Here it will be possible to shelter from high temperatures while enjoying cinema, music, creative gatherings, readings, workshops and other activities open to the public.
This year, the project revolves around the community and ways of sharing urban space. The organisers conceive of this place as a shared living room, a meeting point where art becomes a way of talking, resting and forming bonds.
The programme will include open workshops, performances and musical and literary projects. In addition, the space will be filled with dozens of plants, turning Nave Una into an urban oasis in which to enjoy summer from a calmer, more collective perspective.
