5th Madrid Marcha International Grand Prix

On 31 May, Gran Vía will exchange its usual rhythm for one that is more precise and measured. Madrid Marcha returns to central Madrid, an urban race-walking competition that has become part of the international calendar in just a few years. The fifth edition will start at Callao Square.

The competition holds Gold status in the World Athletics series: this is reflected both in the calibre of the participants and in the strict requirements of the course itself. The best race walkers will compete over 10 km, where everything is decided by technique, pace and endurance.

The day will begin with races for young athletes and veterans, before the city centre is taken over by the elite. Diego García Carrera is responsible for the organisation, bringing the best athletes to Madrid and maintaining the race’s high standard.

For spectators, everything is simple: there is no distance between them and the sport. The course runs along one of the city’s main streets, and every step can be seen up close.
