Heritage Night in Alcalá de Henares

On 14 September, 15 Spanish World Heritage cities will celebrate a unique event: Heritage Night. In Madrid, the host city will be Alcalá de Henares. On this very special night, cultural events will take place in historic spaces and the city streets will fill with the sounds of music and dance.

Alcalá de Henares will host events intended to highlight the city’s history, local traditions and culture. The Cervantes Birthplace Museum will hold a special edition of dramatised tours. Guided visits will introduce everyone to the municipality’s different cultures, its history and heritage, as well as places such as the archaeological site of Complutum, Hospital de Antezana and Colegio de los Trinitarios.

There will be concerts and theatrical performances in the venues. Visitors can enjoy Víctor Manuel at Huerta del Obispo or an independent theatre performance at the University of Santa María. In addition, the Anthropological and Palaeontological Museums will host film screenings and talks.
