On 4 July, Madrid will host the main LGTBIQ+ Pride march, which every year brings together millions of people in the city centre.
About this event
On 4 July, a long column of people will once again make its way through central Madrid, from Atocha to Plaza de Colón. That day will see the state LGTBIQ+ Pride march, the main event of Pride week and Europe's largest march for LGTBIQ+ rights.
The march traditionally brings together around two million participants and turns Paseo del Prado into a living river of flags, banners and voices. It is both an urban march and a public statement on rights and visibility.
The organisers are the Federación Estatal LGTBI+ and COGAM. Their main demands include full compliance with the law on the rights of LGTBI+ and trans people, the creation of an independent body for equal treatment and a state mechanism against hate speech.
