Madrid, Christmas of encounter

For six years, Matadero Madrid has organised a major annual celebration with an extensive programme of concerts, workshops, games, shows and an ice rink, and each year it invites a different country. This year the guest country will be Germany. Germany will contribute its culture and traditions, and music will be the main protagonist.

The eagerly awaited Nevará en la Plaza Matadero event will fill the square with snow with six daily shows that will allow visitors to enjoy a typically Christmas landscape, without forgetting the large ice rink. There will be outdoor shows and Plaza Matadero Madrid itself will be transformed into a stage for music, culture and fun, with shows for all audiences and concerts.

From 26 December, there will be a wordless comedy for the whole family, «Mr. Bo», in which the actors mock oppressive power through humour and gestures. Cineteca Madrid will host a Christmas film series and another of German classics throughout December. In addition, there will be an extensive programme of workshops and courses. Nave 12 de Madrid will host «In the Deepest Part of the Forest», a gathering of literature, masterclasses and stories. Also, in the «Christmas Encounters» series, we will get to know famous German Christmas books and characters.
