Leganés Festival
This August, Leganés will become a great open-air stage. From the 12th to the 17th, the city will celebrate its patron saint, the Virgen de Butarque, with a vibrant mix of free concerts, religious events and popular activities that will fill streets and squares.
About this event
The starting point will be Tuesday the 12th, with the opening address by local photographer and DJ Jimmy Brody, which will follow a parade of local social clubs filled with music and colour. That night, the Recinto Ferial will get off to a strong start with the Radiolé Festival and a marathon of artists such as Alazán, Juanlu Montoya y Silvia Pantoja, followed by the first verbena of the year.
From then on, each day will have its major concert: King África (13 August), Omar Montes alongside urban music figures such as Ptazeta y Alexis & Fido (14 August), Marta Santos’s flamenco fusion (15 August), Vicco’s pop (16 August) and, as a finale, Carlos Baute (17 August) before the final fireworks.
Meanwhile, the classic events will not be missing: the procession on the 15th, the transfer of the image, communal meals, foam parties and the ever-anticipated Fiesta del Agua on Paseo de Colón. All of it accompanied by the unique atmosphere of the local social clubs and the warmth of a summer which, in Leganés, is lived out in the streets.
