Book Day at Cineteca Madrid

From 23 April, Cineteca Madrid offers a unique programme to celebrate Book Day, devoted to the dialogue between literature and cinema.

During this month, the public can see films adapting famous literary works, as well as interpreting them in original ways. The programme includes emblematic works by directors such as Stanley Kubrick with “Barry Lyndon”, Pier Paolo Pasolini with “Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom”, and Tim Burton’s famous films such as “Sleepy Hollow” and “Frankenweenie”.

Cineteca also explores the work of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, whose literary adaptations explore themes of alienation and power.
