Renaissance Market
San Lorenzo de El Escorial is transformed this weekend into an authentic Renaissance setting. The traditional Renaissance Market returns to Parque de Felipe II between 19 and 21 September, offering residents and visitors an immersive experience with more than fifty food, craft and natural-product stalls, as well as a full cultural and leisure programme.

The market will begin on Friday the 19th at 14:00 with the opening of the stalls, followed by a musical street parade at 16:00 and children’s shows at 17:00 and 20:30. Throughout the weekend, from 11:00 to 00:00, the streets will be filled with troubadours, jugglers, circus performers, storytellers and painting, pottery, mask and crown workshops. There will also be an area especially for younger children, with activities designed for them.
The period setting, with scenery, props and costumed characters, seeks to recreate the atmosphere of the town in the time of Felipe II. The programme is completed by performances from jesters, traditional melodies, shows featuring sorcerers and perfumers, traditional songs and tastings that will make a stroll through the market a unique experience. Admission is free and, with its festive atmosphere, the San Lorenzo de El Escorial Renaissance Market becomes an unmissable date for those looking for a family-friendly, cultural and history-filled plan.
