Master ceramicists from across Spain will gather in Madrid’s Plaza de las Comendadoras to present works created using traditional techniques.
About this event
From 14 to 17 May, Madrid’s popular ceramics fair will be held to coincide with the San Isidro festivities. For a few days, Plaza de las Comendadoras will become a meeting place for craftspeople from across the country.
Visitors will be able to see and buy ceramics from different regions, from practical tableware to decorative objects. This year, the central theme will be the representation of animals in traditional pottery: a specific exhibition will show how this motif is reflected in forms and ornaments.
Visitors will be able to observe craftspeople’s work live, from preparing the clay to creating and painting the pieces. Demonstrations on the potter’s wheel will take place at specific times.
Free workshops have been scheduled for children, where they can become familiar with the fundamentals of the craft and create their own objects with clay. Pl. de las Comendadoras, 10
