8th Urban Art Competition in memory of Juan Carlos Argüello 'Muelle'
Madrid's streets once again become a canvas: the Latina district has launched a street-art competition in memory of Muelle, the artist who changed Spain's vision of graffiti forever.

The Municipal Board of Madrid's Latina district has announced the opening of applications for the 8th Urban Art Competition dedicated to Juan Carlos Arguello, known by the pseudonym Muelle (1965–1995), a pioneer of Spanish graffiti and a native of the Campamento neighbourhood.
The aim of the competition is to support creative initiatives in the urban environment and preserve the cultural heritage of one of the first Spanish street artists, whose influence can still be felt in the streets of the capital.
Applications will be open until 5 July. Artists who wish to express themselves through street art and contribute to the image of the city are invited to participate.
