«Toca la Radio» exhibition
In Madrid, all the antique radios considered heritage items will be brought together in one place and will take us on a journey across the airwaves of the 20th century.

Fundación ONCE has prepared a surprising exhibition bringing together nearly 50 unique antique radios, designed for use by blind people. There will be crystal radios, valve radios and the classic «chapel radios». In addition, we will be able to see some truly valuable historic examples, such as Nazi radios and a Mickey Mouse radio that was produced and distributed in the 1930s under licence from Walt Disney Company.
The exhibition will tell us about the history of radio and the properties of allusive sounds. We will be able to see author-led programmes paying tribute to Jesús Quintero. We will even be able to hear one of the first monologue performers on air: Miguel Gilé.
The importance of radio is difficult to assess, but its importance for blind people is even greater. It has managed to bring everyone together in front of their receiver and gather around our everyday subjects: culture, sport and leisure.
