About this event
Soledad Sevilla's artistic language is unique and she has developed it throughout her career. It is based on the purity of line and colour, and forms play a leading role based on geometric modules.
In this exhibition, we will take a chronological journey through the artist's career via more than 100 of her works. We will travel with her from the Centro de Cálculo de la Universidad de Madrid to her current works, some of them created especially for this exhibition. The artist says she has painted the same painting all her life, combining early works with new ones.
Through installations, Soledad Sevilla expands her aesthetic concerns on a larger scale. Since the 1980s, this aspect has become a new axis of her work. The exhibition documents her historical interventions. In addition, the artist presents a new installation, «Donde estaba la línea», in which she uses cotton thread to interact with the museum walls.
