About this event
This new exhibition is dedicated to more than 30 paintings by Soledad Sevilla. All of them are imbued with the distinctive features of her language, based on the concept of the horizon and primary lines.
The artist was greatly influenced by the work of Eusebio Sempere. In her early paintings, Soledad Sevilla drew on his work, rendered on a small scale in graphite. The artist has gone further and now explores a palette of colours in her work. However, the geometric rigour and mystical radiance remain present.
The artist explores and conveys the beauty of the straight line so that we understand the horizon as a three-dimensional line. The artist’s motto in her works is a phrase by the Chinese writer Lu Ji, «the supreme clarity of the finest hair». The threads form a great current that reflects the depth of the horizon and the immensity of friendship.
