Immersive Experience «Smithsonian Entre Estrellas»

Starting 2 October, in Madrid you’ll be able to get close to the edge of a black hole. Fever Hub will host «Smithsonian Entre Estrellas», a virtual journey through the cosmos created in collaboration with the Observatorio Astrofísico Smithsonian.

The tour begins at the Whipple ground-based observatory and continues far beyond our planet. Data from the Hubble, James Webb and Chandra telescopes will be transformed into three-dimensional scenes that surround visitors. Along the way, you’ll hear the vibrations of the Sun, witness massive solar eruptions, and explore an exoplanet with active volcanoes and diamonds beneath its surface.

One scene will recreate the possible explosion of Betelgeuse and show how stellar matter can give rise to new stars and planets. Afterwards, visitors will approach a supermassive black hole devouring a star. The experience uses virtual reality headsets and is based on real astronomical images and scientific data.
