Climate Shelter at the Círculo de Bellas Artes

Madrid residents will have an escape route from this summer’s heat: the Círculo de Bellas Artes will be transformed into a refreshing oasis and climate sanctuary. What is more, it will be completely free.

The ballroom will become a covered urban space thanks to an installation by Recetas Urbanas. Inside, there will be several settings for different times of day: visitors will be able to play board games, read, work at a table with an Internet connection, or simply stop and do nothing.

The space will be complemented by rest areas, a library corner, a drinking-water fountain and an unusual service: a temporary place for plants left without an owner during the holidays.

Throughout the summer, gatherings, workshops, musical events and collective activities will be held here, open to anyone who wishes to attend.
