Exhibition “Nicolás Muller: beauty and commitment”
The Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando opens the door to the world of Nicholas Muller, one of the 20th century’s most colour-rich photographers, whose images were a living testimony to the era.

Until 27 April, the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando presents in its photography gallery an exhibition on Nicolás Muller, a Hungarian photographer with a strong humanist vision and a keen sense of his era.
The exhibition, based on the Academy’s own holdings, is complemented by material from the collections of Pedro Melero and Marisa Llorente, as well as a portrait of the master from Ana Muller’s collection.
Nicholas Muller, one of the greatest photographers of the 20th century, was not only a witness to the era but also a participant in its principal themes. Fleeing Nazi Hungary for Paris, he collaborated with Europe’s leading publications and later became an important figure in Spanish photography alongside Francesc Catala-Roca.
