From 2 to 26 April, Casa de Vacas cultural centre hosts an exhibition by Esteban Ruiz, inspired by the novel «Moby Dick». The artist's works reinterpret the image of the white whale through contemporary forms, textures and rhythms, creating a sense of movement and depth.
Esteban Ruiz combines painting, literature and ecological themes, reflecting the human connection with the ocean. The collection is based on impressions from his voyages at sea, including a sailing journey between Madeira and the Canary Islands, as well as the study of the logbooks of 19th-century whaling ships. These elements have been transformed into forms, lines and shades through which the artist conveys his emotions, fears and inspiration.
Each canvas is like a small journey: the sea, cetaceans and the legendary Moby Dick become the starting point for exploring rhythms, movements and symbols that captivate the eye and the imagination.
