Exhibition ‘Metamorphosis: space and society in the idealista collection’

Espacio Cultural Serrería Belga has opened an exhibition in which 58 artists from Europe, America, Africa and Asia offer a critical view of the contemporary world through photography and video art. Visitors can see 120 works from the Idealista collection, including works by Teresa Margolles, Cristina Lucas, Mladen Stilinović and other recognised authors.

The exhibition is divided into four thematic sections. The first is dedicated to geographical and social tensions: urbanisation, economic development and personal stories intersect in images of urban and rural landscapes.

The section ‘Ecological paradoxes’ explores the contradiction between progress and ecological impact, while ‘Everyday spaces’ shows how common places acquire symbolic and political meaning.
