«The Recognitions» Exhibition

Until 18 October, Museo del Traje hosts the exhibition «The Recognitions», which proposes looking at the museum’s collection from an unusual perspective. The focus is not only on the objects themselves, but also on the processes through which they become part of cultural heritage.

The exhibition brings together garments, accessories and everyday objects from different periods, establishing unexpected links between them. Visitors are invited to discover for themselves the elements the pieces have in common, compare them and rediscover the history of everyday life in Spain over the past two centuries.

Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the work of the museum’s specialists: how they research, document, restore and preserve the pieces for future generations. Thanks to this, the collection ceases to be merely a set of objects and becomes an account of how cultural memory is built and preserved.
