Exhibition ‘Legends of Motoring’

A Formula 1 Ferrari, Fernando Alonso’s helmets and equipment, Carlos Sainz memorabilia and items from great motorcycle-racing figures form part of this free exhibition that brings together the recent history of motorsport.

Gran Plaza 2 shopping centre hosts ‘Legends of Motoring’ until 23 August, an exhibition dedicated to the drivers and vehicles that have marked an era in Formula 1, motorcycle racing and the Dakar. The exhibition coincides with Formula 1’s arrival in Madrid in 2026 and offers a journey through some of the competition’s most outstanding moments.

The centrepiece of the exhibition is an original Ferrari SF70H, the single-seater with which Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen contested the 2017 Formula 1 season. Alongside it, visitors can see personal objects belonging to great Spanish drivers.

Among them are the signed racing suit in which Fernando Alonso won his two world titles, one of his helmets, a shirt from his time at Renault and the full equipment used during his time at Ferrari. Carlos Sainz is represented by items from his early years in the elite, such as Red Bull clothing and the gloves and boots from the Monaco Grand Prix with Renault.

The tour also recalls other names from Spanish and international motorsport, such as Jaime Alguersuari, Marc Gené, Marc Márquez, Jorge Lorenzo, Ángel Nieto and Valentino Rossi. In addition, the exhibition includes Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’s 1996 Aprilia racing bike, objects belonging to two-time Dakar champion Nani Roma and Toni Bou’s boots, the 40-time trial world champion.

The visit is completed by free audio guides available via QR codes. Antonio Lobato provides the voice for the Formula 1 space, while Valentín Requena accompanies the journey through the world of motorcycle racing.
