Exhibition “The Three Borders. At the Heart of the Sahel War”

Until 31 July, the Museo Misiones Salesianas is showing a striking photographic and audiovisual exhibition by artists Juan Luis Roda and José Naranjo about the conflict in the countries of the Western Sahel: Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso. Since 2012, this region, ravaged by poverty and climate change, has been the scene of violence that has claimed more than 40,000 lives and forced millions of people to flee their homes.

The exhibition tells the stories of people living in the Three Borders area and the complexity of resolving a crisis fuelled by terrorists, rebels and mercenaries. The museum also offers two interactive spaces: “Weavers of Earth and Peace”, where visitors can reflect on women’s role and the culture of peace, and “Ubuntu”, dedicated to children’s rights, with games, music and African stories.
