Exhibition “Las cosas (bodegón falaz)”

The Juan Silió gallery hosts an exhibition of work by Miguel Ángel Tornero which invites the public to come physically closer in order to achieve the magnifying effect and see the “corporeality” of photography.

In his project, Tornero uses image-related practices, such as photogrammetry and 3D scanning, to transfer digital photographs onto a paradoxical physical plane. The entire exhibition is built on a contradiction: collage as a justification for manual work and amplified through industrial machines.

The images are presented as if in a new dimension and become dioramas and installations in the format that greets us as we enter a room. To create these images, the artist travelled and photographed throughout Madrid. Tornero rediscovered the capital and familiar places.
