The Museo Reina Sofía will open the exciting exhibition. “Hello everyone” is the first large-scale exhibition of the work of Catalan artist Laia Estruch, spanning 15 years of her work. It is not merely a retrospective, but a living space where art does not stop, but continues to evolve.
Estruch uses diverse artistic forms, from sculpture and installation to sound, video and performance. Her work explores complex themes such as language, gender, social structures and the city. At the centre of her work is the human voice as a material force drawn from the body. This voice transcends words, revealing breaths, whispers and exclamations, and creates unheard-of forms of sonic communication.
The exhibition will present not only intriguing sculptures, such as steel slides and giant mesh traps, but also performative elements in which the space becomes a score for vocal “rehearsals”.
“Hello everyone” is a fragmented archive in which live events, sculptures, sound installations and videos intersect. The exhibition explores the female voice and performativity, questioning traditional boundaries of art and inviting viewers to participate actively in the process.
