Exhibition «La tempestad. El jardín de los senderos que se bifurcan. Avelino Sala»
The new exhibition at CentroCentro is presented as a sequential journey through Avelino Sala’s work, in which each room contributes a new perspective to the dialogue on contemporary life.
About this event
From 16 April to 20 September, CentroCentro hosts the exhibition by Asturian artist Avelino Sala. The project is structured as a journey through his work, in which, through visual language, the tensions and contradictions of contemporary life are examined.
The exhibition La tempestad brings together works in which the fragility and pressure of the system, ancient symbols and new cultural codes, official forms of power and spaces where alternative ways of narrating reality arise are brought into confrontation. Taken together, they form a coherent but heterogeneous field of meanings.
The exhibition does not function as a linear narrative, but as a set of intersections in which familiar images shift and acquire new meanings. In this way, a vision of contemporary life is formed through details, signs and their transformations.
Sala has received international awards, including the UNESCO award and the Artport International Video Award de Basilea, as well as the VAD Prize de Girona. He was a fellow at the Academia Española in Rome and completed a residency at the centro Le Lait in France.
