Science Week at the Real Jardín Botánico

Science Week is being held in Madrid and, to commemorate it, the Real Jardín Botánico has organised free activities for all audiences.

The talks and tastings «The nutritional value of insects: dare to try them» will delight us, bringing us closer to a daring and extraordinary experience. The Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología de los Alimentos y Nutrición will reveal every nuance of taste to us. The programme will include the exhibition «The RJB-CSIC palm collection: the challenge of gardening in a continental climate», where we will be able to learn about the challenges of cultivating these plants in central Madrid, as well as their conservation processes.

In addition, there will be various workshops to learn about the importance of wild bees or to learn to distinguish between species. Science Week will conclude with the Resilvestra project, which will allow visitors to taste edible wild plants, attend a masterclass on how to grow seeds and visit the edible plants area.
