Exhibition «Memory. An Emotional Journey Through Paco Roca’s Comics»

This exhibition brings together more than 70 original pieces by the award-winning Valencian cartoonist, selected directly from his personal archive. Among comic pages, previously unseen sketches, enlarged panels, photographs and handwritten notes, visitors can delve into the creative and emotional process that has shaped key works by the author. From the impact of Wrinkles, awarded the National Comic Prize and adapted for film, to his most recent projects, everything is threaded by one common theme: memory.

It is not only an artistic retrospective, but an illustrated reflection on individual memory, identity and family legacy. Roca himself presents it in this way, inviting visitors to travel through his work as one travels through a life: with unforeseen stops, guided by sensations, places and emotional bonds.

The building housing this exhibition also tells its own story. Designed by Antonio Palacios, the Instituto Cervantes is in itself a symbol of Madrid’s architectural memory.
