The greatest wealth. Selected legacies from the Caja de las Letras

For the first time, the Caja de las Letras will display some treasures as part of the new exhibition ‘La mayor riqueza. Legados escogidos de la Caja de las Letras’. These will include the legacies of artists such as Joaquín Sabina, Miguel Delibes and Ana María Matute.

This cultural event was first held in 2007 with the legacy of the Spanish writer Francisco de Ayala. Symbols of a life devoted to literature, art, theatre, film and journalism were exhibited.

On this occasion, visitors will be able to see items donated by Margarita Salas, Alfredo Bryce Echenique, Claribel Alegría, Ana María Matute, Atahualpa Yupanqui and Joaquín Sabina. These include manuscripts, drafts, various documents, books, letters, photographs and personal objects. Particularly notable among these objects are Buero Vallejo’s pipe, Nicanor Parra’s typewriter, Miguel Hernández’s first edition, Alicia Alonso’s shoes, and many more.
