The La Neomudéjar space in Madrid opens «The Golden Crack», an installation by Ana Devora that investigates how technology influences our perception of the contemporary world. The central image of the work is a crack, a symbol of fragility and openness, covered in gold, which reflects the tension between destruction and radiance.
The installation combines a hyperconnected head-shaped totem, surrounded by cables and processors, with a constellation of suspended paper aeroplanes, symbolising interrupted dreams and unrealised desires. The project invites viewers to reflect on fragmented identity, digital memory and growing dependence on technology.
The exhibition is presented in Nave Generador, a 19th-century industrial building where energy was once produced for the entire complex. The contrast between the historic space and the installation’s artificial radiance reinforces the perception of themes of progress, destruction and imaginary futures.
