About this event
Gold leaf is an important part of Japanese culture. This material covers architectural and sculptural structures throughout the archipelago. The Kinpaku exhibition is devoted to it.
At the exhibition, visitors will be able to see unique screens (byôbu, «wind walls») and fans from the 16th and 17th centuries. They embody the golden age of Japanese painting at Serrería Belga. As with many things in Japanese art, they all revolve around nature, including a close connection with the seasons and colours, power and imagination.
The exhibition is curated by Hiroyuki Kano. He is a specialist in Edo-period painting.
Through the exhibition, we can immerse ourselves in the rich history and culture of the Japanese artistic tradition.
