Exhibition “Juan Muñoz. Art Stories”

The Museo del Prado invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Juan Muñoz’s sculptures, one of Spain’s most outstanding contemporary artists, and proposes not only contemplating the sculptures but also entering into dialogue with them, feeling the space and the emotions the master has captured in them.

Muñoz built his works through dialogue with art history, drawing inspiration from the masters of the Renaissance and the Baroque. What distinguishes the artist’s sculptures is their theatricality and the tension between stillness and movement. He created scenes that seemed to come to life, making the viewer aware of presence and absence at the same time. His interest in detail, moral ambiguity and human weaknesses makes his works extraordinarily expressive.
