Exhibition «Javier de Juan en el corazón de la ciudad»

The Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas opens its doors to an exhibition that not only shows art, but intertwines it with the evolution of a city. «Javier de Juan en el corazón de la ciudad» is an immersion in five decades of uninterrupted work, in which the artist has captured Madrid’s changing pulse through ink, colour and movement.

Spread across floors 0 and 1, the exhibition brings together pieces created in different formats, from drawings and comics to murals and digital installations. What unites this whole journey is not only the hand of its author, but a persistent vision: the city as a living setting in constant transformation, marked by everyday stories, social contrasts and changing urban landscapes. De Juan has not limited himself to traditional techniques. In recent years, he has added the use of new technologies to his repertoire, animating illustrations and creating three-dimensional works that form part of the route. The piece that opens the exhibition, located at the museum entrance, powerfully marks this experimental turn, showing how art can evolve without losing its identity.

With free admission until 19 October, this exhibition is more than a retrospective: it is an invitation to look at Madrid with different eyes.
