Exhibition «Guardi and Venice in the Gulbenkian Museum collection»
The Thyssen-Bronemisza Museum presents for the first time a complete collection of works by Francesco Guardi from the Calouste Gulbenkian collection.

For the first time, Madrid is hosting the complete collection of works by Francesco Guardi from the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum. 18 paintings and one drawing depict 18th-century Venice: the Rialto Bridge, the Doge’s Palace, festivities and the neighbourhood. The exhibition «Guardi and Venice in the Gulbenkian Museum collection» will take place at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum from 3 February to 11 May.
Following Canaletto, Guardi gradually added movement, light and illusion to his vedute, becoming after his death Venice’s leading painter.
