Exhibition «Gianni Versace. In the Mirror»

The exhibition will explore the influence of objects on Gianni Versace’s designs. The great designer drew inspiration from everything, from vases to furniture, paintings and jewellery. Surprisingly, designers are so strongly connected to one another that inspiration circulates among their objects, complementing them mutually.

The exhibition includes more than 180 pieces that have served as inspiration for the artist. There are garments belonging to the atelier’s 1989 line. Gianni himself conceived it as an experimental laboratory. And he created as an experiment: all his boldest ideas became reality here and blended with cultural influences.

Versace was everywhere in the 1990s and became an important figure in fashion history. He also used historical motifs in his masterpieces. Even the company logo is a Medusa, and in other items we can find references to the Greco-Roman world, the Baroque and pop art.
