This Madrid. ABC Collection
Madrid holds a special place in ABC’s collection. It was the birthplace of the newspaper Blanco y Negro and later of ABC. The exhibition will show historic photographs of the city’s buildings and the capital’s own inhabitants.
About this event
In the late 1920s, writers and artists travelled to Madrid, inspired by the rise of the modern press. Newspapers appeared with black-and-white photographs of the capital. The ABC collection brings together images of Madrid residents from a century ago to the present day.
The exhibition brings together the work of illustrators from the last third of the 19th century to almost the end of the 20th, who worked for ABC and Blanco y Negro. The exhibition will open Madrid’s old archives, including the outskirts.
