Exhibition «Wait Your Turn»
In his new exhibition, Riki Blanco turns everyday waiting into surprising art, where pauses and silence fill with meaning.
About this event
Until 25 January, Riki Blanco turns everyday waiting into a space for reflection. Through drawings, short texts and visual images, he explores familiar scenes—queues, pauses, silences, “dead” moments—and turns them into stories full of meaning.
Blanco’s works move between graphic art and literature, creating a dialogue between image and word. Visitors encounter moments of patience, uncertainty and resignation, but also reflection and anticipation, discovering a personal reading in each work.
The exhibition, created especially for the Matadero space, reflects the rhythm of contemporary life and people’s relationship with time. It combines accessible language, a laconic aesthetic and subtle humour, making Blanco’s work approachable and comprehensible for diverse audiences.
