“In the stirred air…” exhibition

“In the stirred air...”. This is the second stanza of Federico García Lorca’s poem Ballad of the Moon, the Moon, which has served as inspiration and a link for this exhibition. Through 300 works by 140 artists, it invites us to explore its world.

The exhibition is a kind of game of emotions that brings together works by artists from different eras. Guided by philosopher and art historian Georges Didi-Huberman, we explore the power of images when they are combined in order to understand how emotions can become a collective expression that speaks of identity.

There will be seven thematic sections in total, with paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, audiovisual works and documentation by artists as diverse as Hans Bellmer, Ruth Berlau, Salvador Dalí, James Ensor and many others, taking us back to the 16th century. Three original drawings and nine prints by Francisco de Goya will be exhibited, as well as the original manuscript of Ballad of the Moon, belonging to a private collection.
