Exhibition «The Dream of Reason. From the Age of Enlightenment to Artificial Intelligence»
From 18th-century engravings to images created by artificial intelligence: the exhibition shows how ways of knowing the world visually have changed over the centuries.

From 10 October to 5 April, Espacio Fundación Telefónica hosts an exhibition that tells how humanity has learned to represent the world, from the earliest engravings and scientific drawings to contemporary works created by artificial intelligence.
Curators Valentín Vallonrat and Ignacio Migelis have brought together around 300 pieces from the collection of the Museo de la Universidad de Navarra: 18th- and 19th-century engravings, drawings of flora and fauna, Piranesi originals and the edition of «Descripción de Egipto», created on Napoleon’s initiative.
Special emphasis is placed on the birth of photography in 1839: images by the first travellers around the Mediterranean, inspired by scenes from ancient engravings.
The final room takes visitors into the 21st century, the age of new visual revolutions. Here, contemporary artists such as Anna Ridler, Quayola and ScanLAB Projects explore the limits of perception through big data, LiDAR and generative AI.
