The Museo Naval revisits one of the great triumphs of the Hispanic monarchy: the recovery of San Salvador de Bahía in 1625. The exhibition, open until 27 July, centres on an enigmatic anonymous 17th-century painting and exhaustive historiographical research. Curated by David García Hernán and the museum’s technical team, the exhibition marks the 400th anniversary of Felipe IV’s victory and the feat of Fadrique Álvarez de Toledo, who led the Hispano-Portuguese fleet against the Dutch.
