Until 24 August, Fundación Canal invites you to Sala Mateo Inurria for an exhibition devoted to Duane Michals, the poet of contemporary photography and one of the most innovative voices in twentieth- and twenty-first-century art.
Around 150 works span more than sixty years of his career, from his early experiments to new works from 2024. Michals crosses the boundaries of genre: he turns a series of photographs into a story and accompanies images with handwritten sentences, turning the visual into the literary and the document into a meditation.
The exhibition includes iconic portraits of Andy Warhol, Marcel Duchamp and Josep Cornell, as well as his iconic photographic sequences, where time and memory, body and spirit form unique visual parables.
