Museo Serralbo will inaugurate an installation in which photography transcends the limits of the image and becomes a space in motion.

From 12 June, as part of PHotoESPAÑA 2026, Museo Serralbo will present the work of Tanit Plana Disfuncionarias, a project about how museums, archives and digital systems seek to order reality and where this logic begins to fail.
The artist draws on the idea of the «bureaucratic body», a mechanism that classifies and preserves everything that can be fixed. In the museum rooms, this principle materialises in large canvases with printed images that do not hang statically, but change shape along with the space.
The canvases curve and shift, breaking photography’s usual stability and turning it into a fluid object. In this instability, the project’s main motif is revealed: the clash between systemic order and that which does not fit the scheme and constantly crosses its boundaries.
